What do you see when you look at me?
What Do You See When You See Me? is a photographic project that invites reflection on how we look at people with Down syndrome. Through portraits of 80 individuals, the series highlights their diversity, identity, and everyday lives—beyond labels or stereotypes.
Presented as an exhibition, a photobook, and public dialogues, the project seeks to raise awareness and spark conversations around inclusion and the act of seeing. It is not about paying tribute or telling extraordinary stories, but about recognizing each person in their individuality and complexity.
Rooted in a personal and intimate perspective, What Do You See When You See Me? reminds us that the real question is not who they are, but what we choose to see when we look at them.
